HoneyBadger the Pug has had a long day! Scampering around town with Human-Momma jumping up and down from the SUV into friend's houses, flower bushes, kitchens, then back in car and through town to Whole Foods and farm and more friends, and finally, Honey the Pug gets to jump up on a nice soft velvety couch and relax from a busy day!
A Busy Pug Finally Gets a Well-Deserved Velvety Couch!...
Happy as Honey, SupraColor Pencil, Copic & Gel Pen on Canvas

"...to immortalize her regal spirit!..."
HoneyBadger might only need a ruler to fill out her passport's height-box, but she needs a yardstick to measure to her personality and energy! She's constantly checking up on her Human-Momma to make sure things are ok, she's guarding the house, keeping pests away, and all around just being one super cool little doggie. I met HoneyBadger while at a friend's house, and her high energy alert and inquisitive nature just won me over from the start.
One day while everyone was relaxing in the library, HoneyBadger jumped up on the couch before everyone else sat down, and just the way she totally owned this huge sofa impressed all the guests! "Happy as Honey" is a painting to immortalize her regal spirit!
Art supplies I used to paint "Happy as Honey"
I painted this doggie-portrait "Happy as Honey" with alcohol inks, primarily Copic markers, and my SupraColor aqua soluble colored pencils. To flesh out the deep orange and golden-green hues of the couch I mixed and brushed alcohol inks first, to make luminescent layers of color. Then I went over those layers with SupraColor pencils to give texture and "feel" to the couch fabric. For HoneyBadger herself I used Copic and Alcohol markers on her mid-tones, and SupraColors for her highlights, and Gel Pen for additional furry details.
