Electron Butterflies, Symbolic Painting

Almost as if a dream, our vision's sensitivity rises higher, into a space where shapes of familiar, transforming silhouettes take flight amongst our thoughts, revealing they too are aware of us, in this dance of metamorphosis...

Symbolic Painting Electron Butterflies by Miko Arts M K Olivares A
This abstract art is about the meaning of others in our life

"...a connection of Awareness..."

I've always wondered about what people mean to each other in our lives. It's easy to think of the obvious like moms dads and siblings.  After one of my sisters died, and several months from that, while on one of my walks, I looked down and saw the body of a butterfly. I had just been thinking about my sister, and I felt that it was more than coincidence that this happened.

This artwork is that feeling we have, usually while meditating or just deeply thinking about people we know, we've met, and especially, who's important to us. And also, what it means for me personally, is the connection we feel with someone who's very important in our life. A connection not of physical bonds or even desire, but higher - A connection of pure Awereness itself.

Art supplies I made Electron Butterflies with

This is an organically sourced multimedia artwork, made from both the butterfly I found on that walk while thinking of my sister, and a watercolor painting I made to accompany the vision. I wanted a really contrasting feeling to the stark butterfly's form, so I decided that an entirely different dimension of material was best. The dimesion I chose was watercolor, as it had a gentleness of texture that contrasted the emotions of the arching, swooping presence of the butterfly.

I painted the face and the background with the flames, with Windsor Newton watercolors, and scanned the butterfly with my Epson scanner. The final composition I did in a completely digital environment, to blend the poetic qualities of the person and the creature, and mirror the semblences of butterflies throughout the space.
