This particular magic morning going for a coffee-shop stroll through Santa Fe near the State Capitol, I had no idea I'd wander by a magestic Plymouth De Luxe Fastback basking in the parking lot tree shade, obviously in the care of a very lucky mechanic! What a regal piece of classic machinery!

I really love old vehicles, they beckon with such creative majesty mixed with engineering. Something I feel especially lucky to have captured in this photo are the sloping power lines and other street signs that follow the De Lux's sensual curves, backward into a dark and dreamy space. And then how that all contrasts such darkness, in the middle of the day, to explode into the bright Southwest colors of adobe and sky.
Seeing cars like this always makes me smile and encourages whatever art project I'm working on, with that feeling that if you involve your heart and mind, something beautiful will endure!
